The children of Pudutheru come to school regularly

Pudutheru
Dear Robert,

The village of Pudutheru is located in coastal Tamil Nadu, India. The tsunami that struck the coast of India in 2004 increased the salinity levels of ground water, forcing the people of the village to consume water from surface sources. This water was often contaminated, and people (specially children) fell prey to water borne diseases. Their ill-health resulted in absenteeism in schools and caused them to miss out on their education, which is their only ticket out of poverty.

Your donation enabled Ekoventure to install a syphon water filter in the local school in Pudutheru. This water filter removes bacteria and parasites from contaminated water and the children now drink pure and safe drinking water. School attendance has started to rise because water-borne diseases are held at bay. The school teacher is very happy, because the attendance in her class has gone up, and she is able to teach the kids without an interruption.

Thank you for your generosity.
