Parmeshwari has a bumper harvest

Thank you for gifting a kitchen garden to Parameshwari, w/o Selvam, resident of Kalitheerthzh Kuppam Village. Here is her story in her own words.

“I have one boy and a girl both are studying in the school. We are running a Tiffin centre in the same village. Ms Varalakshmi (animator) approached and explained me about the SWM project.  As I have lots of domestic work I was bit hesitant to participate in the program.  After repeated visit and persuasion also I did not change. On one Sunday three animators came and put the vegetable waste into the drum. My area animator was visiting me regularly and in 20 days the drum was full. Later I used this partially decomposed waste to establish a kitchen garden.

Now I am very happy to tell that I am regularly using fresh vegetables from my kitchen garden. I have only 4 brinjal plants which are continuously yielding even myself could not believe this. Besides I have bendi, chillies, tomato plants etc.”
